Who we are
The Carpathian Type Foundry 
Born out of a school boy ambition to cast our own letterpress printing type, The Carpathian Type Foundry is a small hobby type foundry using a historic Monotype Super Caster. Our aim is to offer small quantities of type, ornaments & spacing for sale to the hobby letterpress printer, in the tradition of the small type foundries of old.
We operate on a small scale, and only when time allows. Indeed we feel able to proclaim that we are:
Probably the world’s smallest type foundry!

We also operate a small engineering service and can provide replacement printing press roller bearers as well as fabricating replacement parts for printing presses and ancillary equipment.
